Why me for darlins?
Question 1.
Darlins stands out to me because of how genuinely welcoming and DEI-friendly the organization is. From the outside and through conversations with current members, it’s clear that Darlins values inclusivity, individuality, and creating a space where women from all backgrounds feel comfortable, supported, and celebrated. The diversity within the team is embraced, not just acknowledged, and that sense of openness is reflected in how members uplift one another and foster a positive, judgment-free environment.
This is especially meaningful to me because I have personally worked to support diversity and inclusion on campus. I created a non profit organization focused on addressing DEI funding cuts at UT by advocating for resources and support for student organizations that serve underrepresented communities. Through this experience, I’ve learned the importance of building inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen and valued. Darlins reflects those same values, which is why I feel strongly aligned with the organization and excited about the possibility of contributing to its welcoming and empowering culture.
Question 2.
I can contribute to Darlins by being a supportive and reliable friend to my fellow Darlins. I make a conscious effort to uplift the people around me, listen without judgment, and create a space where others feel comfortable being themselves. Whether it’s offering encouragement before performances, supporting teammates during challenging moments, or simply showing up consistently, I value being someone others can rely on. I believe strong teams are built on trust and kindness, and I would bring that mindset into the Darlins sisterhood.
Question 3.
I think Darlins represents sisterhood, inclusion, diversity, kindness, and service. It is an organization built on uplifting one another and creating a welcoming environment where women from different backgrounds feel valued and supported. Beyond performance, Darlins is all about giving back, teamwork, and using its platform to make a positive impact on the UT community. These values are reflected in how members support one another and in how they represent the organization with pride and respect.
Question 4.
The organizations I have been a part of have shaped me into a more confident, disciplined, and collaborative person. Being involved in team-based environments has taught me the importance of accountability, communication, and supporting others. These experiences have helped me grow as both a leader and a teammate and have reinforced the value of community, commitment, and mutual respect.
